Preheat large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter and olive oil to the skillet, heat until hot and foamy. Spread hash browns out evenly in skillet and cook until golden brown.
Flip hash browns and cook until golden brown.

1 lb shredded hash browns
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 sweet onion, finely diced
Salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
Hot sauce, optional
