Sage and Sausage Cornbread Stuffing

The standard for delectable stuffing.

Ingredients:

3 boxes cornbread mix, 8.5 oz each+ Add to Shopping List
1 package spicy breakfast sausage, 12 oz.+ Add to Shopping List
1 onion, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List
1 cup carrots, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List
1 cup celery, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List
1/4 cup melted butter+ Add to Shopping List
3 eggs+ Add to Shopping List
2 tablespoons chopped parsley+ Add to Shopping List
2 tablespoons ground sage+ Add to Shopping List
2 tablespoons ground rosemary+ Add to Shopping List
1 container bone broth, 32 oz.+ Add to Shopping List
Salt, to taste+ Add to Shopping List
Ground black pepper, to taste+ Add to Shopping List
Ground paprika, for garnish+ Add to Shopping List

Directions:

  1. Make cornbread according to package directions.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Crumble the cornbread into mixing bowl.
  4. Cook the breakfast sausage, celery, onion, carrots and garlic in skillet until sausages are cooked.
  5. Add the sausage mixture to the cornbread. Mix in melted butter, sage, parsley, rosemary, eggs and broth.
  6. Place mixture in medium baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 35 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika before serving.
