Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, dry mustard, sugar and crushed bay leaf in a small bowl. Stir to mix well. Liberally season entire beef brisket with seasoning mix.
Place beef brisket in a roasting pan. Place in oven and roast for 1 hour.
Remove pan and brisket from oven. Pour beef stock in pan and fill with enough water to fill 1/2-inch. Reduce heat to 300° F, and cover roast with foil and place back in oven to roast for an additional 3 hours.
Remove roast from oven. Transfer to cutting board. Slice meat and place on serving plates, drizzle juices from pan oven sliced meat and enjoy!

Oven Roasted Beef Brisket
Serves 10
Ingredients:
4 lb beef brisket
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 tablespoon sugar
1 bay leaf, crushed
1 1/2 cups beef stock
