One-Skillet Cajun Honey Garlic Sausage and Rice

Delicious, easy, and on the table in 35 minutes!

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon olive oil
14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
2 cups chicken broth
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons honey

Directions:

  1. Drizzle the olive oil into a large skillet. Bring to medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sausage to the skillet and sear until evenly browned.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and garlic. Cook and stir for 30 seconds. Then add the rice and stir to incorporate.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a low boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, until the rice is tender and the broth is absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Drizzle the honey over top and gently stir to combine.
  6. Serve while hot and enjoy!
