An update to the classic.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce, more for drizzling, optional
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Sea salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Sliced cucumber, for topping
Sliced avocado, for topping

Directions:

  1. Gently mix the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, green onions, Thai sweet chili sauce, lime juice, soy sauce, garlic, cilantro, ginger, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty. Place the patties on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Bring the grill or a large skillet to medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and let sit for a few minutes.
  4. Place a turkey patty on each bottom hamburger bun. Place a few cucumber slices and avocado slices on top of each patty. Drizzle a little sweet chili sauce over top. Place the top buns on to complete the burger. Enjoy!
